Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Measure warm water and put 2 oz. in a small bowl or cup with yeast. Stir till dissolved.
  3. Put the remainder of the water in another bowl/cup. Add salt and vegetable oil.
  4. liquid measuresMeasure honey. Scoop out a tablespoon or so of honey and stir into the water/yeast mixture. Stir just till dissolved and allow to rest.
  5. Add the remainder of the honey to the water/salt/oil mixture. Stir.
  6. Set up your food processor with the metal blade used for chopping. You may have a "dough mixing blade" but these often do not work as well as the chopping blade."
  7. Place flours in the food processor. Pulse once or twice to mix.
  8. If your water, yeast, honey mixture has not started to get foamy, take a little break. It needs 5-7 minutes.
  9. When your yeast mixture is foamy turn on the food processor and slowly add it to the flours. Then, after one last stir, add the water/salt/oil/honey mixture. Allow the food processor to continue to run. When the dough comes together in a large lump and begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl stop the food processor.
  10. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Knead for a few minutes until smooth and a little stretchy.
  11. Place in a greased bowl. Spritz PAM over the top. Cover with plastic wrap. Cover with a dish towel and place in a warm place for an hour to an hour and a half.
  12. When the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto the floured surface again and knead a bit. Shape your loaf.
  13. After shaping your bread, allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes while you clean up the kitchen.
  14. Bake at 350 degrees. Baking time will vary depending upon the shape of your loaf.
  15. Cool bread on wire rack.
